Executive
Omitron is seeking a Vice President of Commercial Development, Marketing and Sales to establish and lead the company's first dedicated commercial sales function. This executive leadership position will focus on expanding Omitron's presence in the commercial space industry by transforming more than 40 years of NASA and Department of Defense (DoD) mission operations expertise into market-ready software products and services. The selected candidate will develop and execute commercial growth strategies, establish sales infrastructure, identify new business opportunities, and build relationships with commercial satellite operators, ground segment providers, and emerging space companies. This position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO, and Beltsville, MD, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring time at both offices, significant travel, and occasional off-hours support.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead Omitron's commercial sales function, including pricing models, licensing and subscription structures, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, sales processes, pipeline reporting, and marketing materials.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue commercial market opportunities involving satellite constellation operators, ground station networks, SDA providers, and emerging space companies.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of commercial business opportunities, establishing measurable sales objectives, revenue targets, and business growth strategies.
  • Manage the complete commercial sales lifecycle, including prospecting, customer engagement, product demonstrations, proposal development, contract negotiations, and closing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to translate Omitron's mission-proven technical capabilities into commercially viable products and customer-focused solutions.

  • Establish and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales pipeline activity, bookings, revenue performance, and commercial growth projections, to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate with contracts, legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure commercial business activities maintain appropriate separation from government contract data, proprietary information, and pricing.
  • Support the development and execution of long-term commercial growth initiatives aligned with Omitron's broader strategic business objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI security clearance required.

    • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or commercial growth initiatives within the space, satellite operations, ground systems, or related aerospace industries.
    • Experience working within a government contracting environment, including an understanding of NASA and DoD mission requirements and the ability to translate technical capabilities into commercial market solutions.
    • Proven ability to establish or expand business development and sales infrastructure, including pricing strategies, CRM systems, pipeline management, business processes, and operational procedures.
    • Strong technical understanding of satellite mission operations, ground systems, astrodynamics, and/or SDA technologies.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
