Omitron is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable software delivery pipelines and platform services in support of mission-focused government customers. This role works closely with development, security, and operations teams to enable automated, reliable CI/CD workflows that support rapid and secure software delivery. The DevSecOps Engineer applies industry best practices across cloud, containerized, and platform environments while supporting collaboration and productivity tools used by distributed technical teams. This position supports a government customer and is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and support secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines and platform services across multiple environments
  • Coordinate and integrate efforts across development, security, and operations teams to deliver automated and reliable software delivery workflows
  • Apply DevSecOps best practices to improve build, test, security scanning, deployment, and monitoring processes
  • Support cloud-based and containerized platforms to ensure secure and efficient software delivery
  • Administer and optimize collaboration and issue-tracking platforms, including Jira and Confluence, to enhance team productivity and visibility
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and operational issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Contribute to platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, security automation, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
  • Participate in operational support activities, including occasional work outside of normal business hours

Minimum Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain is required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline; additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant technical experience
    • Experience working in Agile development environments using Scrum methodologies
    • Experience with Git-based version control systems and GitOps workflows
    • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, Docker, or similar technologies
    • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java
    • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems and command-line environments
    • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, secure software development, automation, and continuous improvement
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and operational issues
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with standard productivity tools for documentation, presentations, and reporting
  • Certifications:
    • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD 8140.03 / 8570.01 Information Assurance Technical II certification (e.g., Security+) within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Advanced coursework or training in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or software engineering
  • Experience:
    • Experience supporting DoD environments, Platform One, or other government software factories
    • Experience administering collaboration tools such as Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, including workflows, permissions, automation, and plugins
    • Experience with containerized application deployment using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Helm, or Ansible
    • Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, ScriptRunner, or similar tools
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch
    • Familiarity with software composition analysis and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, or Prisma Cloud Compute
    • Experience with access management and authentication solutions such as SSO, Keycloak, or Appgate
    • Ability to multitask, apply innovative solutions, and proactively improve systems and processes
  • Certifications: Cloud, DevOps, or security-related certifications

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $140,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
