Omitron is seeking an Associate Systems & IT Support Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Colorado Springs, CO. This on-site role supports both enterprise IT operations and cloud infrastructure, working closely with the Cloud Engineering Lead and serving as the primary escalation point for complex Tier 3 help desk issues. The successful candidate will assist with cloud and systems administration, troubleshoot advanced technical issues, maintain enterprise infrastructure, and support day-to-day IT operations across the organization. Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day administration of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including user account provisioning and access management.
- Support patch management, system health monitoring, and routine maintenance across servers and workstations.
- Maintain cloud-based DNS services using Amazon Route 53.
- Assist with connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configuration records.
- Support Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
- Develop and maintain basic PowerShell automation for routine administrative tasks.
- Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, VPN, wireless, hardware, and software issues.
- Resolve complex Tier 3 support requests escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians.
- Serve as a technical escalation resource for IT support staff.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly with end users and stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of enterprise IT operations and infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizenship required
- Security Clearance: None required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or junior systems administration.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows desktop environments, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with ticketing systems and SLA-driven support processes.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through certifications, home labs, or similar technical development.
- Certifications: None required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Experience:
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi or Hyper-V.
- Exposure to cloud environments and cloud administration.
- Familiarity with configuration and patch management tools such as Microsoft Intune or Tanium.
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or AWS CLI scripting and automation.
- Certifications:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Security+
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent certifications.
