Omitron is seeking an Intermediate Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support operations in Colorado Springs, CO. The ISSO will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of assigned information systems by ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies, supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, and overseeing the implementation of security controls. This role supports a classified DoD customer and involves close collaboration with IT and cybersecurity teams, regular documentation and audit support, as well as incident response and continuous monitoring activities. Occasional travel is required.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain the appropriate operational security posture for assigned systems.
- Coordinate risk management activities and act as the primary point of contact for system security matters.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support the implementation and sustainment of security controls aligned with system security plans.
- Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to support certification and accreditation efforts.
- Prepare, review, and maintain security documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, and C&A packages.
- Evaluate and manage system changes, ensuring their security impact is properly assessed.
- Participate in incident response, analyze breaches, and assist in mitigation strategies.
- Provide cybersecurity education and risk mitigation training to system users.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to network and system security events in real time.
- Conduct internal security audits and assist in external assessment preparations.
- Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with system owners, admins, and engineers to apply patches and secure configurations.
- Support and document cybersecurity efforts throughout the RMF lifecycle.
- Create and update RMF artifacts including SSPs, SCTMs, and POA&Ms.
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizenship required
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience: 0–5 years of relevant experience with a degree, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Certifications: Security+ and one or more of the following:
- CCNA
- GFACT
- GSEC
- GSLC
- GCIA
- GCLD
- CASP CE
- CAP
- CISM
- CISSP (or Associate)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in a cybersecurity or IT-related discipline
- Experience: Prior experience supporting RMF for DoD programs
- Certifications: Multiple from the list above or advanced certs such as CISSP-ISSEP, CISA, or CRISC
